I have had a Brahma rooster for about a month now. I added him to my pulllets. I raised my pullets from chicks. He has been a really a sweet boy and my 12 pullets are finally settling down with the fact that he is here to stay. They are around 22 weeks old about the same age as him. I just went out to collect my eggs and they were out around the coop (they free range 1/2 of the day). He always comes over with the hens when they see me they always run to me in case I have treats and he always comes close to me but has never done anything aggressive that I have seen. Well all of a sudden i was walking into the coop and he attacked my leg!! Oh boy I didn't know what to do this is not good......anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!

I hope you weren't injured!
If this is your first cockerel experience, he may have been showing signs of misbehavior that you didn't recognize, and now here he is, being really bad!
You have choices; chicken stew, at your house, or someone else's
living with awfulness
attempting to retrain his little brain into politeness
penning him up so he's not free ranging
Beekissed has an excellent article about managing human aggressive cockerels and cock birds, and there are other articles here on the same topic.
Wear jeans and shoes, and carry a weapon, as in a bucket or stick, to keep him away from you. Be safe!
If you have children or visitors, he's going to be dangerous to them, even if you convince him to be polite to you. Consider liability, and possible injuries.
I hope you can work this out, but if not, there are lovely boys out there, so don't give up on the idea of having a nice rooster!
