My 6 wk old chick just ate a hair elastic

My 9 yr. old just came in and told me one of the chicks just swallowed one of those half-dollar diameter hair elastics. She said he took the thing, which he found on the ground (grrr) and all the chicks were running after him, and he downed it.

Will he survive this? I'm thinking not. UGH!!!!!

You would be surprised by the stuff they eat. I once found a 8 " piece of leather in chicken poop. I'm sure time will tell if his "rubber worm" goes on through. Oh word to the wise NEVER LEAVE THE TACKLE BOX OPEN no body ate the hooks but neon green wigglers are the fave

Check it's not wrapped itself round his tongue - rubber bands are bad for that.

I'm sure ours eat sorts of stuff that if we knew about it we'd be fretting over them.

The question is.... will she wear it again once it has come out the other side ?

Since I promised, and in case anyone was up all night worrying

my chick is still alive. I guess their digestive systems aren't as fragile as I thought.
