i wanted to come up with a feeder that would hold more than the bottle type.
i used 2" ABS.
i used a 2 x 3 reducer to keep any rain water from following the pipe down into the feed. the water drips off the bottom of the 3". nothing goes into the feed, which is under the coop. for the top i used a 2" ABS cap, just pushed on dry.
i used 2- 2" double ear straps to hold it to the coop. i used a 4" PVC cap for the dish. notching the bottom of the ABS pipe. used 2 self tappers to attach the cap to the pipe. screwed it from one side to give more room for chicken heads. the main section is about 25" long, then a 15" offset. this holds 5-6 days of crumbles.
thanks for looking
