My hen was acting very lethargic, sitting a lot.. thought it was heat exhaustion (it was a hot day in Florida) brought her in, she was "waddling" and acting very lethargic, slow..out of it. After five minutes of being inside, she laid an egg but a jelly like egg. I am feeding her grower/layer feed, herbs, veggies throughout the day. I read online eggs without shells means low calcium BUT she had two eggs in one day? HELP!

Thank you so much!

My Calico Princess did the same thing on Sunday!

Mix in ground oyster shells or ground egg shells with their food to make sure she will have a thicker egg tomarrow

They can act really weird when passing a soft shell egg.
Did she perk back up after laying the softie?
How old is she(in weeks) and how long has she been laying??

What kind of feed exactly are you feeding?
Brand and model...and/or protein and calcium percentages(on tag sewn into bottom of bag).
I'd cut out the herbs and veggies.
What exactly and how much of these are you giving?

Do not mix oyster shell and/or egg shell into feed, put them in a separate feeder.
