I can sex my Marans chicks pretty much right off or within a week or so. I am such a dummy with the ameraucanas. I think it might also be because my dang eyesight is failing. I had 15/20 vision my whole life and a few years ago, I became Mrs. Magoo.

The smaller one does look white in the pictures, I think the sun washed them out a bit. I am fairly certain it is a splash. And yes, it is a runt. It is a lot smaller than the others. But seems to be healthy. I will try and get better pictures of them. The Blue Wheaten/Wheatens all have blue on them, does that make a difference?

Here are closer pictures of the Blacks, you can see their combs better. I am still leaning to a pair. Also, I have pic's of my Whites, which I am 99.9% sure I have a pair, and you can see the difference in their combs quite well.

I agree with you on the whites. On the blacks it looks like a pair, but I wouldn't call it just yet, like I said too much ambiguity there....

I am positive on the wheaten variety cockerels. If the pullet has blue in her tail, then she is a blue wheaten, black = wheaten, white = splash wheaten.
