while it's not a coop or run, BYC does have a section for ornamental birds like parrots and such so I wanted to show off the aviaries my husband (gpop1) built for me. The tiels aviary is 12x8 and the one for the budgies is 8x8. Since we live in Florida cold is only a small factor. For winter we have some tarps which go on hooks around the aviaries and since they both have clear roofing panels there is no need to cover that part. We also use oil filled radiators if the temps go below 40.
Both aviaries now contain quail. The tiels share their aviary with 6 cortunix and the budgies have 14 buttons in there (too many I know). Once we build a quail coop for the cortunix half of the buttons will go with the tiels. They are wonderful little cleaners of seed!
