Had to work yesterday so my husband and the kids cleaned the brooder box and fed and watered the babies morning and afternoon. Today since it was Mother's Day they did the same this morning. I just went down to give fresh water and food and some grass to snack on and my runners can reach through the wire on top of the brooder box to pick at the towel I have covering one end!!
My Cayugas are getting feathers around their bottom and wings. My runners look like new ducks! They have dark brown all over their chests and in a spot or two on their backs. That pale brown fuzz is going away.
I feel like I do when I look at my kids, I don't know when this happened! Almost literally overnight though, I feel so unprepared!
