Yes, they're Khaki Campbells. I picked them because of their egg laying ability. I started with 8 eggs, one was infertile, one died in the first few days. I'm amazed that with home-made bator, all six of the remaining eggs hatched. I can't wait to let them start swimming. I just love watching them.
ETA: I had thought that a crest came from specific breeds, but am I right in assuming it can happen to any breed? Or does this mean that maybe that baby was a cross-breed?

After about 3-5 minutes we took them out and made sure they dried off under the heat lamp quickly so they didn't get sick.
We were thinking of calling him Elvis because of his great pompadour hair style. Of course, he may be a she, so then we'd have to name it something else, but won't know about that for awhile yet.
