My babies went to there outside coop today..... :(

I am going to be so sad when that day comes for us. I might find myself getting more just because I will miss the sounds of their chirping.

Hope you sleep good tonight.

Well it is morning and I have been outside to check on my babies and they were all up walking around chirping, just as happy as they could be. I have to say that I didn't sleep well last night, but dh is a smoker and he does not smoke in the house so when he got up at around 4 this morning he checked on them and they were all huddled together sleeping like babies. That made me feel a little better. Thanks everyone for all you kind words....

Yes, it indeed feels sad. A friend gave us 3 slightly deformed chickens of an unknown breed. I'm quite excited of introducing them to my coop with my small flock, but my grandma wants to take in charge of them. She only lets them live in complete free-range - no shelter, and only eats grass and undesirable kitchen scraps. They roost on trees in the cold night and lays eggs on bad locations. I was asking my grandma to allow me to build a small coop for them, but she thinks it's better for them to live naturally and that my chickens should also live in free-range. I feel sorry for the chickens. Very glad your chickens are doing fine. That's also one good-looking product, fluffnstuff!

Good luck!

Thankyou. I agree that free ranging "some" is ok but I do not agree with them sleeping in the tree's. I know that is there nature but I feel better knowing that they are locked up at night and safe. Mine only free range when I am out there to supervise.

Hope your grandma comes around for you !
