So i bought two baby chicks only 2 days ago and they've been completely normal, both were running, eating and drinking just fine
However this morning one of them has been acting weird, at first it was extremely tired, i looked up a few things online and someone said i should add some sugar into the water to help it which seemed to work really well, after i gave it the water it started to move a bit, the only thing it did however was consume a large amount of it and its been refusing to eat so far.
i dont know whats wrong with it or if its sick at all , as im writing this all its doing is just chirping and staying still in one place.
They're both still very young as well , probably a week old at least.
I've been monitoring them both and this is the first time that this happened
My chick has also been falling asleep a lot while its standing up, keeping its eyes shut and chirping every few seconds

Constipation is a common problem with new chicks. Have you checked it's vent to see if it's pasted over with poop? The vent could be blocked and needs cleaning.

You also would be smart to give it some coconut oil orally. Chill slightly and slip small pieces into its beak until you get at least a half teaspoon in. Massage the crop to get the oil moving down the digestive tract. Continue to offer warm sugar water.

As far as i know it can poop normally, however its not a normal color; its mostly a yellow liquid or greenish solid droppings
im thinking it might be worms though i cant be entirely sure;

That poop does not indicate the chick isn't constipated. It will not hurt the chick to give it oil. It could very well save the chick's life.

Worms at just a few days old is extremely unlikely.

If you are in the US near a feed store, get some Poultry NutriDrench and feed bit chicks a drop or two. Put down some paper towel and sprinkle some chick crumbles around their feet and tap at it to try and get them eating. Dip their beaks for a half second into their water. Do you have a heat source for them? They should be in about 85-90 degree F in their brooder. Check daily for dry poop on their vents.

Update: Things are getting worse, i've been trying to get it to eat but it wont accept it, its barely drinking water and its just laying there whimpering, i tried giving it some food with a little bit of oil but i cant force its beak open without it shaking it off
I really dont think its going to last long and im really worried, im trying everything i could
im keeping it warm as well, staying with it as much as i could

New chick folks sometimes are afraid of hurting a tiny chick by prying open the tiny beak. This is understandable. But you won't hurt it.

It can help a lot if you enlist a helper, even a child. You hold the chick and use both hands to pry open the beak while your helper slips small pieces of the oil into the chick's right side of its beak. Let the chick close the beak and swallow after each bit of oil.

If you do not do this, there is a likelihood your chick will die. You need to be brave about this.

I managed to feed it a good amount of oil, although its squeaks sound different right now;
its twitching a little too and can barely keep itself up
i dont know what else to do other than keep it warm , everytime im making it drink some water it almost wants to gag afterwards

Have you massaged the crop to get the oil to move through the chick?

Hopefully, it's going to work soon and your chick will produce a big poop and feel better.

Yes i did just that

Im unsure if its going to feel better or not honestly, it just pooped again but its still mostly liquid and its now back to chirping loudly
