Hi, I'm newer here...
I received 6 day old chicks in the mail 2 days ago. 3 of them died straightaway and two dies yesterday. I have one little black chick left who mostly acts like a normal chick, although he is a little listless. I'm concerned though because he spent the night alone and is acting less energetic today than yesterday. I saw a few of the chicks drinking and this guy. Drinks water often but I have yet to see him eat. I am worried that if he doesn't start eating, I'm going to loose him too. Does anyone have any advice about what I can do to get him interested in food?
Also, all but one of the chick dies within 48 hours. Any idea what went wrong?

I would contact the hatchery you ordered from and let them know of the losses. Maybe they weren't packaged correctly and got too stressed during their journey. As far as the last one left, maybe try a little hard boiled egg. Babies really love that and it may get him interested in eating. Make sure he has a warm spot in his brooder box, especially since he is all alone with no one to cuddle with. I am sorry you lost so many, it is heartbreaking. I wish you the best with the last survivor.
