I know what you mean about being a youung mom and being mistaken for not-the-mom. Mine graduated from HS last December!!
I was at Wal-mart with my daughter buying DVD's about 2 years ago and one was rated R. The cashier actually looked at me and my daughter and said "I'm sorry girls - I'm gonna need to see an ID for this!"
I pointed to my daughter and said "I'm her MOM!"
Bet she felt stupid.
I went in the liquor store to buy some beer once - I was only about 29 then - and the lady actualy LAUGHED at me when I went to pay. I showed her my ID and she accused me of have a fake one.
The list goes on and on - I'll be 39 this year...DD is turning 18 three days after my B-day. (Yes, I was pregnant for my 21st B-day....VERY pregnant!)
Enjoy being the Not-the-mom! And enjoy your handsome young man getting older!
