My baby quail pics!!!

Oh my gosh, they are soooo cute! But they scare me half to death when they go to sleep! like, a bunch a babies will be running around the box, pecking at things and looking healthy! then the other half of them will be sprawled out on the floor with their eyes closed. A couple were even sleeping upside down with their feet sticking up. So I'm all like, freaking out thinkin' they're dead, ya know? So I'll poke them and then they'll just pop up and look at me. Such a relief every time!

They are crying again.

Hehe. You will get used to the strange positions they sprawl out in, I spent the first few days with ours rushing to check them when I caught them asleep on their sides or backs. Now I'm used to it and just chuckle at them.

Check the temperature under your heat source and make sure it's getting high enough. I assumed one lamp would be enough when we first got ours home and they cried when ever we weren't next to them, when I put a second on and checked to make sure my temps were where they were supposed to be they calmed down quite a bit.

Your babies are adorable! Good luck with them!

LOL, I've never seen one lying on its back with its legs straight up in the air, but I think that would scare me to death seeing that! I have one that likes to lay completely flat as a pancake with its legs straight out behind its body - it's enough to scare the beejabers out of you.

Yeah, they're pretty scary sometimes. We officially have 25 babies as of this morning! I don't think I need another heat lamp because the temp. underneath the one is 95 degrees, and they aren't huddling directly under it. Most of them aren't huddling at all! I just watched the 25th hatch, like two seconds ago, and it just never gets old!
