Ok, so a few days ago, only about four or five, I bought four silkies. One male and one female and with them two baby silkies. But I'm getting kind of worried about the adult silkies not mating because the male tends to hate every other silky in his cage. The cage is pretty big so they have free area to roam around but I don't understand why he hates the female and the babies so much. And now I have a bigger problem! Last night it rained and over night one of the baby silkies fell ill! I have kept it inside and got it some medicine from the vet but it still won't move!
Help! :(

! Great to have you aboard! It might be be matter of time - give it a few more days and nature might take it's course. Good luck to you!

If the chicks are not the hens and she is not letting them nestle under her, I would suggest separating them from the adults for their safety. The sick chick may fair better with the company of its sibling. If the adults still seem to not get along with eaxh other, try dividing pen if large enough with mesh so the can see each other and get acquainted. When you purchased them were they all in separate pens?

Kiawara I did put the siblings together and he got a little more active and that medicine is helping now so hopefully he will survive well but what should I do about his breathing situation? And when I brought the silkies the adults, male and female, we're together but younger silkies were in a separate pen.
