As long as your coop is at least 35 feet from your neighbor's primary residence, chickens are perfectly legal in Los Angeles. Just no roosters. ;-D

But yes, fresh eggs are a mighty nice enticement! I hope mine start laying soon! They are 18 weeks old so I fear I have a few more weeks to wait...
