My "baker's dozen"

Quote:
Ok, birds from a blue x white = all blue chicks split white, now these birds do show white flights.

Your male is split purple, and also pied I would guess(white throat patch) about half of his hen chicks will be purple, only half of his sons will be split purple. No way to tell untill you breed them.
Purple is sexlink so only the male can be split purple. Also only the male need to be split purple to produce purple hens.

If your hen is split to pied or white then you will get chicks white and pied not all but some. Does she have a white throat patch?

Ok the males you raised are not all split purple, only about half of them.

Your older male is blue split purple, and either white or pied.

that male X pied hen = blue, pied, white chicks both sex, and purple, purple pied hens

Deerman, now that you've taught me what Dark Pieds are, I see two in the photo. The Dark Pied hen on the roost, and the Dark Pied cock looking up at her. Possibly more, as I see another hen and cock each with a small white primary wing feather.
I learn new stuff everyday!

JessaRee, your peafowl look great! I'm jealous of all the lovely hens you've got there, especially the white hen. I also like the automatic waterer.

Who are the four new birds that you added? I was also wondering.. is a baker's dozen 13 because I see 13 birds, not 12.

Saw that hen, wasnt sure if white flights or color of under feather, think you are right. Remember they could be split white, some split white birds look like dark pieds.

Oh thats right. I'll learn it yet!
