Why would a 11 week old just drop dead? She never showed any ill signs, very active happy birds.. They are still in a seperate cage at night. They do run free all day in the barn. The big chickens hang around in the barn during the day too. She was FINE when I feed this A.M.. When I went back out to open there cage door, she was just dead. Not sprawled out either, like she just curled up and died..

They Only eat Med starter and lots of goodies, the usual.. Eggs, greens, ect. They don't get any layer at all. I cremated her. I hope I don't have something going on I don't know about.. One of the same bunch about a month ago turned up paralized.... Marecks is what everyone said on here..?? A vet is out of the question around here. I actually had one laugh at me once, asking about a chicken. He told me to cut its head off....

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Fine when I locked them up at night, found her dead the next am under the roost. Sometimes it just happens and you'll never know why. It doesn't mean the flock is sick but do keep an eye on them!

Okay, it happened again last night. It's been a few months since the last one. A BA was dead under the roost and they appeared fine all day so I don't know.....
