i have a few different clutches in my bator. they were given to me by a friend who has a farm and took them out from under the mother hens (not all of them....but the hens had too many eggs). they were extremely soiled so i dry cleaned them the best i could. anyway, i have candled them all and separated them according to growth. i have 4 different sections....the largest of which has very early growth. i have one egg in the corner on its own cuz it's filled almost to capacity so i'm thinking it's ready to hatch. i feel like it stinks the worst! but i feel like my nose could be deceiving me cuz sometimes i feel like they all stink. is it the poop that is causing the rotten smell? i threw out 4 of them yesterday where the yolk was dark but just floating around wherever i turned the egg. no movement etc. (i've hatched and candled many times). the egg on it's own in the corner....i THINK i saw movement but it's so hard to see in there. i don't wanna throw it away for fear that i could be wrong. it's just so discusting in there! i've never had this smell in my bator, but i've also never hatched such soiled eggs. any advice?
