yay !! howd you get her to eat ?

She is so special and beautiful. I am so happy for her and she will be able to communicate with her babies. As said, if you keep her water and food very close in a safe environment I think she will be fine. I am just guessing but even though she is blind her sense of smell should lead her to her food and chicks etc. Can't wait to see more pictures of her. How many is she sitting on?

I know first hand about being legally blind, I am very happy to read this post and know that she isn't being left out of lifes pleasures because of her handicap. What a great chicken momma you are....

Wow.....what an incredible, heart-warming story!! This just made my day! Good luck and PLEASE share some more photos of mom and baby (or babies!).

Bless your heart for being so loving and caring, too.

Ok! More updates! This morning, I gave her a half hatched egg because the mom wasn't taking good care of it. It hatched and so she has two chicks! But wait! Theres more! The same mom that wan't taking very good care of the egg had two other chicks. This afternoon, I found one dead and the other wounded. I treated the wounded one with neosporin and put it under Smantha becaus eshe is the only hen that won't peck its wounds. And now I can't get her to eat again! Before I made it as loud as I possibly could, but now that isn't working! She has only had one meal in the last 2 1/2 days! I have tryed everything from putting her feet in the food to bringing in another hen to make the pecking sound of eating food. i know she hasn't eaten because he crop is full of water. I dumped chicken food in the water, making a mash, so hopefully she will get at least a little. Finally, here is a picture that I took yesterday before the other chicks came. I don't have anything newer. I had to delete several pictures to get enough room to add this:
