So My 10 month old Boston Terrier (Winston) had to have surgery last night. He has had an umbilical hernia from birth and by the time I went to have him neutered the hernia turned into a "outy belly button" it was a small deposit of fat trapped between his abdomen wall and his skin. So the vet and I decided to leave it at the time (this was 2 months ago). Last night when Winston was getting his tummy rubs I noticed it was incredibly swollen, hard, and inflamed, it looked like a golf ball under his skin. Anyways I had to take him over to the clinic last night and he ended up staying for surgery to have it repaired. I called to see how he was thins morning and I am so glad I took him in. The fat had gone necrotic and black under his skin so what should have been a hernia repair turned into and abdominal explore to make sure there was nothing attached to the fat or no internal organ were affected. I am so happy my pup is ok!! He will be on strict kennel confinement for 2 weeks at home (he'll love me for that one) but at least he is ok!!!
I was really worried and I just wanted to share my relief with everyone.

Glad he will be ok. Sorry about the emergency surgery.

for you and Winston, so sorry to hear the poor guy had to have surgery, but I am glad to hear he will be ok.

Aww, I'm glad poor Winston will be all right! Emergency surgeries like that are a bummer, but they're much better when they have good outcomes like this one did. I hope Winston has a quick and easy recovery, and doesn't go crazy under kennel confinement!

Thank you for you well wishes!! Winston is now home and milking every second of it

Right now he is using every excuse to curl up with someone and be fussed over, carried around (he's 25lbs) and babied. Normally he is a black and white blur who springs everywhere.

And yes Birdaholic I really do love my Boston Terrorist!!! Yours looks like a doll.
Here is Winston when he's feeling good.
