My rooster has decided it's time to get his roo on. My hens however are not liking his attention. I heard what sounded like a massacre in the coop. I ran outside to find he had grabbed one of the hens by the neck and she was freaking out, dragging him all over the coop. I have a camera in the coop with a monitor in the house and I keep hearing this over and over. He wont leave them alone and they are not submitting to him.

I thought the hens were supposed to squat and accept him? At what age will they do that without giving me a heart attack?

They will start squating just before they start to lay eggs...not until that point. You might want to seperate him until they are ready, if he's really causing problems for them. Good luck!
