I ordered 50 broilers from Ideal poultry and they came yesterday. I have lost 20 already and the death toll is rising! Is this normal for this breed? I am not very happy about it and don't know what to do. All the chicks are at 90 degrees and most were eating and drinking yesterday. I checked them several times during the night just to pull the bodies out.
Thanks so much,

That sounds like a very high mortality rate.. I am not sure what your weather is like but if it got very cold during transit you would expect to lose some but those numbers seem above and beyond.. Most hatcheries offer replacements or refunds with high losses.. Defintly email Ideal and tell them how many you have lost.. This makes me nervous as i order 25 coming in on March 17th..

I just called and they wanted a total, but I told them they are still dieing. I have 3 more on their backs struggling for life at the moment.
The operator said they may have gotten chilled during shipment.
I have to call back tomorrow with a total number of deaths.

don't let them stay on their backs! They will definitely die if you do. If you see one alive and on it's back you need to turn it over.
