My Brooding Hen

I'm new here too. I just got my first layers today. yellow coloured chicks. I
need to know what breed they are, and the best ways to keep them healthy,
happy and kicking. I love my chicks.

My chickens are doing pretty well though, the mother hen sleeps with them under her wing. The chicks are so adorable.I can fit the one of my 2 baby chickens in 1 hand.

Under her wing is exactly where they should be sleeping. It's warm under there for them. Do you have them back out with the flock? You obviously have one rooster, so I would guess you don't need another one. If one of your chicks is a rooster, you can let it be and see if it gets along with your current one (it doesn't always work out that way) or you can try to find it a home. If you do sell it or give it away, realize that once it leaves your place, it is no longer your chicken. Whoever takes it may eat it. Don't ask. Just know that it had the best possible life at your house, and if it makes you feel better, tell yourself that it's going to another good place to live. Or, just don't think about it. Move on.

Feed them chick starter, make sure they have plenty of fresh water and room to grow. You may have to wait until they're feathered out to find out what breed they are. Where did you get them?

The mama hen won't harm the babies after they hatch. They're her childeren and she would protect them and take care of them.
