my broody hen

My hen is acting broody but she is not in the eggs she roosts with the other hens

What sort of behaviours is she exhibiting that make you think she is broody?

A bird that is truly broody will not roost - she will sleep in the nest.

A bird who is walking around with her feathers puffed up might be sick though.

Never mind and thanks for the answers, she barely started sitting in the eggs this morning, yesterday afternoon I let all the chickens free range and she would make a lot of noises and she would puff up when other hens (not her sisters) would come closer to her, and yesterday night she went to roost with the others but today since the morning she has been sitting in the eggs.

Put some fake eggs under her until you are sure she will stay put.......
......3 days 3 nights with only a short trip to eat, drink poop each day.
Then give her fresh fertile eggs to hatch.
