My brown leghorn isn't laying yet?!?

My brown leghorn purchased in Mid March has not started to lay yet. I'm saying that because of all the hens I have she is the only one that is supposed to lay white eggs.

My 3 barred rocks and my Rhode Island Red purchased at the same time are laying machines giving me an egg a day.

Are brown leghorn's late bloomers? Any suggestions.

Not usually, but chickens are individuals in the end. Maybe she is a little younger than the others. Depending how sure you are of the seller, maybe she is not a brown leghorn. Krainenkoppes look very much like brown leghorns but lay cream colored eggs, for example -- and she could always be a cross. At any rate, she's not so old I'd assume there is a problem, yet.

She's only 6 months old, give her a bit more time - all pullets mature at different rates, she's just a bit slower than the others. I'm sure she'll give you eggs in the next couple weeks.
