Today, as I was walking through the barn, I glance over and see something bouncing around on the netting, from under the netting (Inside the chicken run) I walk over, and it's a hawk! It had managed to get into the run, but couldn't get out. All the chickens were inside the coop, peeking out the door, waiting for me to do something.

Well, I guess I had better do something then, not sure what, and then it came to me,,, I grabbed a horse blanket and slo-wly I crept, inch by inch, step by step, started to throw the blanket, and it got away! Curses,, foiled again! All the chickens were ok

, this hawk was a juvenile from what I could tell from his size. Heck, most of the chickens are much bigger than he was! But I'm going to reinforce the netting tomorrow.

Glad none of the chickens got hurt. Hawks are everywhere right now. I cannot turn my hens out to eat grass because hawks seem to always be overhead.

I've seen very few hawks in the area, but whenever I do see one, it's usually being chased and attacked by crows. I doubt I'll see this one again for awhile.
