I noticed the other day she was acting a little sluggish, but it was hot and humid, I thought maybe she was just hot! I gave them fresh water and feed. She got up and went with the others to eat and drink. Yesterday I thought she was doing fine, yesterday afternoon she wasn't doing good at all. She was laying with her head on the ground! Walked very slowly, with her wings down and droopy! She is 16 wks old. I have her quarantined from the other chickens.! I' am afraid she is going to die! I noticed there was some wet feed that had started to mold, we have been getting a lot of rain! She is still alive this morning please give me some advise! The vet I use for my dogs, doesn't deal with poultry! I want to save my pullet if at all possible, and I am worried about the rest of my chickens! I got out and shoveled out all the mold , and put fresh pine shavings over the area!! I have read a lot of the post on here, some of them describe the way she is acting. Please could someone give me some advise on what to do for her, I am going this morning to try to find some poultry electrolytes.

Not sure where you are located and what stores in your area carry, but I have had real good success using a product called Poultry Nurti-Drench.

I live in a part of Missouri, where my choices are limited. But I will definitely look for the poultry Nutri-Drench. Thank you!

Sounds like poisoning from the moldy food. Keep her inside if you can and give her the nutri drench if you can find it FAST. You need to get fluids in her right away. 1/2 water and 1/2 gatorade works. Get an eye dropper and give it to her on the top/side of her beak so the liquid will go in slowly and she doesn't get it in her lungs. Make a mash out of boiled egg yolk and gatorade and feed it to her. Give her some every hour and let us know what happens.

Keep water and food in her hospital cage/box so she can eat if she feels better.

I tried to get to the store to get some meds or something for her today! I got flooded in and couldn't get out to do anything! So I went back down and talked to my sweet Buffy. I told her we where on our own. I called the feed store, of course they didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about! So I called the vet to talk to them, and see if they had the supplies I needed. No they didn't, but they talked to the vet for me. The vet said he thought it was limberneck from the moldy food. He said there was really no treatment, and the electrolytes may drown her if she can't swallow. He said depending on how much she injested, he said some pull through and some don't! Went back to see Buffy, she looked a little stronger, I have kept fresh water for her since last night. Around 11 am went back to talk to her and check on her. This time Buffy would cock her head and listen to me talk, like she always does. I was getting ready to give the ducks there treat of frozen spinach, I gave a little to Buffy. I thought it would help to hydrate her some by it being frozen, she ate it. I got hopeful! Went back out around 3 pm in the pouring rain, she was hungry. I gave her a little feed, she started eating away! Plus when I lifted the lid on her cage she stretched her neck up and looked at her surroundings! Do you think since she has come this far, she will be ok! I will give her a boiled egg, I can't get out to get the gatorade. Hopefully in the morning! Thank you everyone for your advise! It is nice to have a place to talk to people who understand. I have had one person tell me today, it is just a chicken!
