It was born in 15 days of incubation. It was runing, drinking and geting water normaly. on 3 day, in the morning his head bend, and try to eat under him. on afternon it lays down, with respiratory dificult and at ninght it died. What disease kill him so fast? every day i changed water, food, and clean the cage. The cage had a 70w lamp for heat providing. i have cleaned all. and had new eggs on incubator. I want to prevent this for the new chicks that will born.

Hi, welcome to BYC! :frow

Sorry for your loss. :(

Although it is possible to get things passed through the egg, I have had chicks fail about that time. There can be things we can't see, which of course you know.

But what many people don't realize is that rapid or labored breathing is or can be a sign of the internal system shutting down.. and is very common for stressed animals.

Was it an only chick? Sometimes one might get trampled. If pasty but is missed it's deadly fast. How warm is you 70 watt bulb?

Loneliness might contribute to failure to thrive. Sounds like it wasn't absorbing nutrients for whatever reason.

Hope your next hatch comes out better! :fl
