My cat has allergies CONSTANTLY

Ugh. I have owned cats for 40 years, usually more than one at a time, and never had to deal with that. It would become an outside cat in this household.

We have a dog that has severe allergies starting in March until a good hard freeze comes along. Her nose runs, eyes water and she loses all her fur. I have spent a lot of money on her over the years and nothing seems to work long term. Prednisone just makes her crazy.

At least she doesn't sneeze.

Never had a cat with allergies though and I've had way more cats than dogs over the years.

Tell the kitty I said "Bless You!" next time he sneezes.

Did ya try glutin free food?

That's a common allergy to cats.

And even try the special protein one, I can't remember what it is........ugh i ferget, ask the pet store about it or the vet.

We've got a cat who sneezes a lot. It seems to be seasonal since it comes on stronger when my daughter and I have our bouts of seasonal allergies. We take her to the vet and they give her a steroid shot, which costs about $20 and clears the problem up in a few days. We have to get the shot about twice a year, only when her sneezing flares up.

Well,

My cat is allergic to:

bluegrass
orchardgrass
timothy
brome
ragweed
pigweed
marsh elder
cottonwood
aspen
box elder
maple
cladosporium-fungi
penicillium-fungi
candida albicans-yeast
pullularia-fungi
venison
corn -this is a biggie since most cat food is made from it
white potato
brewers yeast
alfalfa
staph

He is sensitive to:

vernal grass
sycamore
saccharomyces-fungi
flax seed
tobacco smoke

He has lots of symptoms ranging from sneezing to scratching himself til he bleeds. I have him on special food that cost $30.00 for an 8lb bag, but I cannot prevent grass clippings or hay pieces from coming in the house on our clothes or shoes.

He is doing better now though that his diet has changed, the only symptoms I see is ocassional scratching when we mow the lawn.
