Last year I bought some eggs at a fur and feather auction...they were supposed to be Araucana...I hatched them and they turned out to be different colour birds and I was ok with that. After a fox attack, I was left with a buff hen with fluffy cheeks and a roo with fluffy cheeks. The roo looks more like pics I have seen of Aracauna roosters. The hen lays a pinky beige egg. I purchased 4 more hens to go with him, 2 speckled sussex, a cochin and one that looks like a dominque. I have since hatched some eggs from the hens and now have a group of 12 wk old hens (and roos) with green legs....fluffy cheeks...and some bearding.
My question is, will I get any coloured eggs from these hens?????? BTW...the original eggs I bought were a blue/green!
TIA

It depends on the breed.mine lay light brown eggs its the breed. So yes if she is a colored egg breed you will get colored eggs.

If the roo carries the blue egg gene then you could have hens that lay colored eggs. I'm not sure what the percentages are though, good luck!
