It's a great-looking set-up...I wish I had thought of using lattice, as I had a bunch of it left over from another project I did a few years back. I have spent so much money getting these hen houses set up...hardware cloth is soooooooo expensive. If my camera was working, I would send pics of my own hen house and pen. You can tell I am not a professional, but what can you expect of a 57 year old lady with no help. I'm proud of my set-up anyway. I'm adding on at this time - I built a hen house and pen for my standard sized chickens, and now I'm working on a smaller hen house and pen for my Silkies. I have one Silkie - I think it's a rooster, about 11 weeks or so old and it is in a crate with 3 small blue/black chicks. Every night the white one spreads its wings over the little chicks and hunkers down and goes to sleep. Cutest thing I've ever seen. Also, one of the small chicks makes some kind of screaming/screeching noise. Does not seem to be in distress, just noisy. At first it scared the other chicks and they ran, but I think they are used to it now.
