My Coop
I just finished putting together a page for my pallet/scrap coop build. Altogether, I spent less than $50 for materials for this little 48" x 50" coop. If you want to see my steps, take a look: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/kruer-pallet-scrap-coop

A few pics: I started with several pallets, both the "regular" kind and some built with 2x4s (or split 2x6s):

And ended up with fairly cute little coop

I was lucky enough to have access to a lot of scrap materials. I'm also a big CL lurker, always looking for free/cheap materials. So if you have time to shop and collect CL materials, you can build a coop that's both secure and kind of cute!

Awesome coop. My hubby is also talented, with lots of access to free materials, but as it is his job, I CAN'T GET HIM TO BUILD FOR ME!! (He did build me 2 coops, but I'm after him for 2 more). He did bring home 2 of those big pallets though, hmmm...now you've got me thinking.

I'm a big big fan of finding new uses for scrap materials like this and love seeing what other people create, too. Kudos to you for breathing new life into those discarded pallets! You DID end up with a super-cute and functional coop.
I collected a stack of the smaller pallets and was going to attempt to make my coop with them when a long-time friend, who is in the wood reclaiming biz, offered up a couple loads of old barn wood that wasn't suitable for market. I still have that stack of pallets, and seeing how cute this is you've got me thinking too. Maybe a second coop? Thanks for sharing!
