Your chick probably died because of the falls. Next time you buy young chicks, make sure to learn how to carry them first. Always grab cover their wings so they don't try to flap their wings and get out of your hands. Again, I'm so sorry for you loss!

This OP needs to spend some serious time researching before even thinking about getting more chicks.
What is this turns out to be a fast growing meat bird.
