THANKS.... i think one of the feather foot birds killed it.... Because now i can see one chasing the other one and trying to eat at its eyes..... they are only a week or so old... should i separate them?!?

It was alive and well last night... and this morning dead! IDK what happened. It was the only black and while colored one at the feed store, so i cannot replace it.... I know u r not supposed to cry over livestock...and i didn't name them for that purpose. BUT STILL.... i'm heartbroken, and crying! IDK what or how i'm going to tell DS8 ....

I'm just at a loss.... she was the cutest little chick. And i know i cant just order 1. And we are at our limit of 5 .... so i'm just at a loss...

OH, and if it matters, the other 2 are just fine... they were eating and drinking when i went to check on them (black with feathery feet) .

Thoughts?
Ideas?

Signed,
Heartbroken and Defeated

Aww I am sorry for your loss. Take heart knowing the chick breathed its last in a loving home.

No, you need to give them something to do. You can purchase a baby cake that hangs in the brooder and gives them something to peck at. Or, put some old fashioned oats and chick grit in the shavings for them to dig around and peck at. What kind of heat source are you using? If it is white, change to red.

Thank! That worked... i have the bird toys and meal worms on a string and they seem to be getting along much better.... now i'm just wondering if my aggressive one will end up being a Roo

oh its very sad .....keep ur chicks in brooder at temperature 100 F nd vacinate them ...give starter feed nd multi vitamins for keep them healthy
