Hi,I’m not sure I will get a reply but I have 6 eggs the rest have sadly passed away apart from 1 a few days ago on day 10 I seen veins and movements from the chick inside the egg, yesterday was the same, but today I have checked and there’s movement but no veins and it’s day 12 is this normal?

Hi! No im unable to post pics as any pics I take you can not see inside and it dosent show it’s justice, the egg just had very healthy veins yesterday, and today jusy movement and no veins I’m just very confused as this is my first time doing this

Just so I am understanding correctly:

I am assuming you candled the egg to see the progress at day 10 and could see veins and movement. You have candled again at day 12 and can see just movement now.

Baby is just growing, as the egg fills up, it will no longer show the veins, you will barely be able to see anything in the egg!

Seems like baby is doing well :)

I'm assuming you are using an incubator. Rule is from day 18 do not open the incubator, this is called lock down period and you need to keep the humidity and tempurature regulated during this time, so try not to check the eggs past day 18 as they are getting into position to hatch out of the egg :) Good luck on your last egg!

Omg Thankyou so much, the stress is over lol, since the other baby’s passed I have been so paranoid for this one to follow along,is it also normal for them to be active one day and the next not so? As the only reason why I asked this is because when there was veins baby was very active and moving a lot and now there’s no veins you got to really look and focus on the egg to see movement I have checked twice today and the first time baby was just floating and then later again when I checked there was little movement

Thankyou! Yes I have done all my research 6 days to go,and I’m so so so exited,I’m using a manual incubator,on day 18 do I carry on putting water into the incubator or do I stop? As to put water into the incubator I’m pretty sure I have to open the incubator to put water inside (that’s what I have been doing)

Understandable that you are worried, it's honestly best to just leave them to do their thing, and yes sometimes they wriggle, sometimes they don't. That's along all the stages of development. Sounds normal currently. I try not to candle them too much, I know some people only candle on days 7 and 14 to check progress/remove the dead embryos, but Im too curious, so I do days 4, 7, 10, 16 and then I leave them do their thing. I know all too well it's tempting to check on the progress each day, but each time you remove them from the incubator, they have to get back up to temp/humid again. Good luck with the baby! 🐣
