From my last thread I’ve concluded my chick was born blind, she’s only two weeks old. How should I care for her? I’ve been syringe feeding her for the past few days but I won’t be able to do that forever.

I have no experience with blind chickens. I do have experience with blind dogs and cats, so the best advice I can offer is to keep her feed and water in the same locations, so she will know where to go.

Because she has never been able to see, she won't miss having sight and will likely learn to navigate with her remaining senses. Of course, she would never make it in the wild as a blind bird, but she has you to keep her safe.

If she is part of a flock, she will learn to go where they go and do many of the same things they do. Animals don't seem to understand they have "handicaps." They just live with their realities.

Best wishes with your baby! Please, let us know how she gets along.
