Hi!
We introduced a new Barred Plymouth Rock to our current flock of three 4 week old chicks yesterday (same age).
The end of our new chick's beak was slightly broken when we purchased her. We're aware that this is a common problem caused by their beaks grosing too quickly, and I've read that the end of her beak will grow back in time. She seems well and happy.
However, as well as this, our new chick 'clicks' its beak together frequently and when pecking around she sticks her tongue out to 'lick'.
Is this normal?

Thanks in advance,
Pamela
