My chick is hatching but wont come out of the shell help?!

Our chicks started hatching today and one of the chicks has started to come out. You can see the beak and other things from the hole but it hasnt really made any progress in a couple of hours....can we help it out of not? Please help...

It can take some time, have you checked the humidity?

I should mention that the chicks are under a broody momma not in an incubator...

It can take sometimes a day to get them out from pip to zip.
How about all the others? How many are there? If he was the last one, I would worry, but leave him alone for a while.
Does mama get upset with you poking around under there, or is she ok?

This would be the 4th one out of 8 hatching all of them will be mixed with a serama roo. We had a modern game, a serama, and a mutt hatch....we were just getting worried about the one just chilling in the egg. These are our first hatchers ever so we are all excited and a bit nervous about who is coming out and when. Momma doesn't get bothered with us poking and looking.

If you REALLY have to get in there and help, which I am sure I will be chastized for telling you how to do this....
Take a warm moist paper towel, and keep it near the egg.
DO NOT block his beak, or he will drown or suffocate.
You can try to add a little moisture to the membrane, but if you aren't sure of what you are doing, there is more of a risk of killing the chick than if you left him alone.
Especially Seramas, they are so tiny to begin with.
If you get desperate, you can chip away a little piece of the shell, but if you see ANY BLOOD AT ALL, STOP IMMEDIATELY.
He isn't ready for help yet.
Or you can take a cotton swab moistened with warm water, and just dab on the openings, be careful not to drown him.

I'd say humidity is a big deal for the chicks. We've had a heat wave and the A/C makes the air dry in our house. I usually wet a paper towel and drape it over the eggs, but did not today. We lost one today that died during hatching because I think the membrane was too dry. It pipped a hole and we checked later today and saw that it was still-born.
4 chicks were successfully hatched today though and its always a great experience for the kids (and daddy).
