My chick order came today, now what?

I think you should immediately post pics.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that is one of the rules here on BYC, you must post pics of new chicks and then regular update pics as they grow.

Good luck! Once they warm up they should be fine. As for wing feathers. They really do start to come in on about day 2/3! They will grow fast!

I have lost one of the RIR, I have been checking on them every few minutes( I can't seem to stop wanting to look at them.....at around 1pm I found one had died....

Sorry about the loss of the chick. Shipping can be pretty rough on the little guys and some just don't recover. The others should be fine.

I'm there with you on watching them. Mine are a week old and I still sit and watch them. It's better than the tv.

Such beautiful babies! I was told my baby was possibly a black cochin, but looks just like yours. Could he/she be an australorp? Has the same multi colored eye rings, like she smeared her mascara. What do you think?

It looks like yours has feathers on its legs,my australorps have clean blackish legs.
