Yesterday I went to let my girls out to forage for the day. They all came out but one. I went back in coop and found one of my bard rocks laying behind the feed container. I gave fresh water and added some chick start. She wobbled to the water and drank then laid down again. I thought she hurt her leg flying down from roost. I didn't want to leave her with the others so she's isolated in my chicken hospital. I made her a scrambled egg and yogurt. She ate a bit. I gave her mealy worms which she loves and ate. This AM She appears to be worse. Waddle and comb look good. She feels healthy but will not stand. I also notice she has a raspy sound when I pick her up. What should I do? Could be respiratory but will that stop her from walking?

UPDATE: she passed. Im so confused. Ive had my girls 3yrs. I feel it was respiratory as she was making a faint sound when I picked her up today. She went quick. Yesterday was the signal something was off. Today she passed. Fat and the last picture I took of her feet the left one looked swollen compared to the other one. Thats all I noticed that was off. I lost one a few months ago but believed it was a hawk attack. They get fresh water daily. Feed and treats. Fresh veggies. She aspirated when she passed so I know she ate eggs after I left the room.

Without a necropsy it is really hard to say. If she was over 2 years old, then reproductive problems can happen, cancers, infections, etc. They hide symptoms really, really, well until whatever ails them is pretty advanced. The gurgling/wheezing could be respiratory, or could have been from aspirating something she ate or drank, or if crop contents came back up. In the pictures, she does appear to be pretty sick.
If you still have her, then refrigerate (don't freeze) and if possible get a necropsy done. Many of us do informal home necropsies, to look for obvious abnormalities, which can sometimes answer what happened, doing it at home does lack the lab work that can be helpful if something is viral or infectious. Some people do them at home and post pictures here for opinions from others who do them.
List of state labs, you can call your nearest and ask for details:

Thank you. She was a fluffy sweetie. I am once again devastated. Her crop and vent were fine. No visible injuries but today there was a slight rasp and beak open a bit. No labored breathing. I have 8 of my girls left. I probably won't continue my love of raising chickens after these 8. Its too heartbreaking for me. They are so sweet, sassy and fun.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I know, it's very hard to lose them, we get very attached. Sadly, it's part of keeping chickens. Enjoy those who are still with you, and remember the joy and love she brought.

I thought they'd be around longer than 3yrs. She was 3yrs 10mo. Old
