My chicken ate a piece of glass...

I don't know who lived her before us, but we have tons of little pieces of glass all over the yard. For all I know, she's chowed down on some before, but this is the first time I've ever witnessed it. It seemed to be a pretty sizable piece. It seemed to go down fine.

Think she'll be okay? I've had so many bad things happen the past few days, I CANNOT handle one more freaking thing.

Has anyone ever had a chicken eat glass?

My chickens have ate styrofoam(and quite a lot!), and never seemed to have any problems. There's not much you can do other than wait. Watch her closely.

I had glass all over my property, too. We sifted everything in the run area well before building, but missed some. They dig it up during their dust baths. I've never seen any eat glass, but I have found some bits that look like they've been through a chicken; they look like the glass you might find washed up on a beach. So, it's likely that they've eaten glass, and I've never seen any problems in my flock. I'm guessing that she'll be OK.
