my chicken cannot keep her head up

They can dehydrate very fast. If you have pedialyte you can mix that in water. Can you get her to eat anything else?

Maybe check her crop see if there is a fowl smell or something in case she may have sour crop or something. This heat is really just taking a toll on everyone and everything.

Make sure you give us updates. I hope she gets better

I would give her some yogurt for quick energy and easier to give with a syringe. If you can get some electrolytes tomorrow I think they may be important in this insanely long heat wave - it may not saver her, but it may help your others. Make sure this isn't the only water source for the chickens though. If it is just the heat, sometimes there isn't much that you can do once they get to a certain point. I haven't verified this, but I have read a few posts suggesting that leghorns are not that hardy in extreme heat (but then again, who loves this >100F weather). Make sure there isn't anything else going on. How does her crop feel? Is it empty, does it still have food in it, is it too large, etc? Well wishes.

Sorry, there was some weird delay in my post. Ditto to the post above

If none of this helps...check threads on wry neck...with the heat, she may have lost enough vitamins to become deficient. The treatment is normally poly vi sol and vitamin E..

This is the protocol that I follow:

.5mls poly vi sol daily
400 ius vitamin E twice daily.

I really hope she comes around for you!!
