Hi everybody! I wanted to show some pictures of my chicken church and duck house. It is so much fun to decorate the yard and give homes to my babies at the same time. Hope you like them!

They are just beautiful!! What is all that green stuff on the ground.... OH Grass! Sorry I'm from AZ. We have dirt, gravel, cactus, rocks-lots of rocks! Seriously though, I love the Chicken Church concept. I'm a Pastor's wife so any way to get em saved!

Question: did you use something other than chicken wire on the fencing??? The reason being that predators can slice through chicken wire like butter.....which I don't get, cause from the name chicken wire it would seem you could use it for chickens. Apparently it only works to keep chickens in or out, not the things that eat chickens. Just a word to the wise, I would hate to have you wake up with a bunch of feather piles. Anyway, your setup is gorgeous!!! Based on how my duck pen looks I'm not gonna be posting pics on here!!! LOL!!!!

Thanks for the nice compliments everybody!

I did go through and reinforce the pens with some tough fencing (you can see it in the top photo, which was taken this week. The other photos are from last year.)
After my neighbor's dog broke through my chicken wire rabbit pen AND my church, I had to take action. I wired all my pens with tough livestock wire, and I left all the chicken wire on too, to stop smaller predators. They all have semi floors, so things can't dig underneath. My next project is to replace all the existing chicken wire with some 1/2" hardware wire. These birds make me work hard, that's for sure!

Is that lattice board you have for a roof on your duck run?

Maybe THAT's what I should look at for the ducks and geese ...

It looks like it provides shade, but wouldn't be too hot. I know it's not much protection, but my ducks and geese would rather be out in the weather. Maybe closing in just a corner in case they DO want in ... but leaving the rest open for coolness' sake. It gets HOT here more than anything.

Thanks for sharing the pics. They look really nice, and I love to see what other people do!
