I made my chickens a heaven! With tunnels and perches and many choices where to sleep. With these three coops it can fit about 23-25 chickens! :p

Share your chicken coops with everyone and let’s see all the different creative ideas! :D

We have 5 right now but 7 baby chicks in about 3 weeks they will be joining our flock we used to have 8 all together and now 5 + the 7 chicks

Why is this bad?
Because then you'll have too many birds crowded into too small of a space.
Crowding can be bad for behavioral issues, especially at roosting time when they peck at each other anyway...and bad for air quality with the lack of ventilation in those tiny dollhouse coops.

The chickens are spread out and don’t all sleep in the same coop and there is enough room....
Some chickens sleep in different coops like 3 or 2 will sleep in the smaller coop and 4 or 3 will sleep in the bigger one
Again they don’t all sleep together plus if they were to sleep together in one coop, there would be enough room—one coop can hold 12 chickens and the other one holds 6 and the last one hold 5-6 (none uses the last one though)

It depends on how you measure the number of chickens a coop will hold. Backyard chickens are generally considered to need about 4 sq. Ft. per bird. Coop companies generally advertise their coops can hold many more. Many people here on Backyard Chickens recommend 4 sq. ft. as the minimum in climates that get cold, because some days (weeks?) the will stay in and not come out. Then they need some space from each other or pecking breaks out. I don’t have firsthand experience; I’ve just been reading a lot. The others posting have much more experience.
