For the most part they have no problem getting up to the roost boards, my brahma rooster is a bit larger and I have noticed him pacing around inside before he jumps up onto the boards, I have been thinking about moving the two outside boards a little closer to the outside wall and moving the two inside boards closer together to make a larger gap for the larger birds. But all but two brahmas sleep up on the boards every night.Nice!!
Do they have any trouble getting up on the roosts?
Spacing looks a tad tight.
Tweaks are pretty much inevitable...why screws are good to use for everything.I have a few tweaks I want to make this spring and summer to the inside and outside, just things that I didn't think about the first time. It is my first coop, but I built it to be my only coop.
Thank you for the kind words. I posted a link in one of my earlier posts giving a shout out to Carolina Coops, for their inspiration for my coop. They have a great deal of YouTube videos on their designs that are great to get ideas from. Message me when you start to build your larger coop with any questions!Wow! Thanks for the inspiration. I intend to build a bigger coop in the near future when the girls outgrow the current one (TSC pre fab coop). I appreciate you documenting the build with pictures. That makes it so much easier to get/use ideas.
Outstanding!
I used lots and lots of screws on the coop!Tweaks are pretty much inevitable...why screws are good to use for everything.
