My dad and I went to buy some chickens. I saw a beautiful black copper maran. I knew she was the chicken for me. When we bought her, she was the most prettiest, softest sweetest thing. I decided to name her Copper. When we put her in the coop, she got picked on, but she stood up and defended her brother and sister. One day, she was super brave and stood up and got stronger and stronger. When she was 8 months old, my dad and I were waiting and waiting for her to lay and egg, but she never did. When she was 9 months she was so beautiful. My dad and I went to check the chickens, and we found her lying dead, no injuries, just dead. We think that she was egg bound. I will never forget beautiful Copper.
I know how hard it is when they are gone. I hope your heavy heart heals soon.
