my chicken got bit

my chicken got bit by a black rat snake right by her gizzard and it is getting squishy. if you feed her soft foods like crushed apples instead of hard chicken feed will that keep it from getting iritated. we have her away from our other 12 chickens so she can relaxe. if anyone can recomend anything else to do for her tat would be great.

The gizzard is an internal organ in the body cavity Do you mean that she got bitten in the crop? Is there physical damage to the crop?

oh yea the crop. we are not sure. will feeding her the soft apples help???

I have no experience with that 'treatment' regimen. I would be incclined to limit her food intake for a period of days without changing her normal diet.
