I need to know if someone has had experience with this....It is hard and circular. I am tempted to have it removed however this is cost prohibitive. Has anyone had an experience like this. It is quarter in size and has warmth to it. It appears to be painful but doesn't restrict movement... Would this be consistent with a tumor? Not terriblly painful but uncomfortable. I would like to keep this rooster on the planet... any ideas? and yes I thought of taking him to the vet.... I am not sure that the vet in my area would be terriblly understanding.... (past experiences... they don't find chickens as important as I do)

Not long ago another BYCer explained a similar problem. After giving it a lot of thought she did 'open' the area and curled up feathers were inside. I guess like ingrown hairs. If you were game you could try to see what is inside. If after you make a little incision it looks like something you don't want to tackle you could just apply neosporin and bandage and let nature take it's course.
