My Chicken has a swollen foot with raised scales and 2 nasty wounds

So penicillan would be am IM injection correct? So I would not need to do the Yogurt then right?
Well I will see where I can get some. Thanks again for all your help

Chickenlady - thanks for posting my pics.

You should give probiotics anytime you give antibiotics, it doesn't matter whether you give the antibiotic via injection or orally. In either case it disperses through the system and kills off bacteria wherever it finds it. Probiotics re-establish good bacteria in the gut. (Perhaps a topically applied antibiotic can be excluded from the need for probiotics.)

I believe that with penicillin (and other antibiotics that end with -in) you may need to not use a dairy-based probiotic until after treatment. Giving a powdered probiotic can be done concurrent with the antibiotic.
