Last year I lost a chicken. I found her dead in her box. Think she was eggbound. I am now having another chicken laying eggs that look like they have gotten stuck and finally were laid. Egg is thicker in middle and elongated. They are free range chickens, only hens. Maybe I am not feeding them what they need? They get scratch, grit and laying pellets. I just bought some Flockraiser and took the laying pellets away. Trying to give then a break from laying... since they lay all the time. They are a mixed chicken, but mostly Rhode Island Red ....New at this so pardon my stupidity.
